Snow days

I've gotten quite a bit of sewing done while we're battling all this snow.  I was meaning to finish my nephew's dress pants but got distracted with skiing and a cabin stay in French Lick.  This cabin was just... gorgeous.
We went with another couple and so enjoyed skiing, spending time at the cabin, going to the casino and some go karting.  Just a great weekend!  I'm already looking forward to next year. :)

I also finished  my jelly roll quilt.  I saw this and the You Tube video and thought I'd try. So easy!  My bundle wasn't quite a jelly roll, so I had to improvise and add some borders but it turned out pretty good.  I also added a machine stitched binding to the edges.

And now that it's 10 pm on a school night, (I'm a therapist at a school), I've been working on those dress pants again for my nephew.  Had to take out stitches several times because I kept making the same mistake but finally tonight, I got the legs all put together, complete with a cute little welt pocket in back, side pockets, faux fly and will work on the belt loops tomorrow.  Not that a two year old ever needs belt loops, but they'll make him look pretty handsome.  Here's a sneak peek.

I'll be watching him and his five year old sister tomorrow evening so I'll see if I can wrangle him long enough to try them on! I'm sure it will be a night of Jake and Barbie. :)
